ORANGE LINE TRANSIT NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN PROGRAM
In the capacity of City Planner, I was responsible for managing a team of urban planners, interfacing with various public agencies and presenting proposed land use policy and regulatory measures to city council. The tools and strategies that the Orange Line Transit Neighborhood Plan team developed are to encourage transit ridership, promote job creation and/or preserve industrial uses. Each station area: Sepulveda, Van Nuys and North Hollywood are distinct and are currently being planned contextually, with different intensities, land uses, design guidelines that will incentivize future development of affordable housing and open space. CALIFORNIA POLYTECHNIC, POMONA
I managed the design and construction of a sustainable green parking facility. The $41-million facility has three levels and contains features that promote sustainability: solar panels, automatic lighting that dims when people are not present and 24 stations for charging electric vehicles. The solar panels on the third floor of the structure generate an estimated 8 percent of campus electricity. The facility also offers Wi-Fi, secure bicycle storage, 13 emergency phones and 77 cameras for security, rideshare parking, and four stops for shuttles, including a stop connecting campus buses to the local transit agency, Foothill Transit.
Parksmart certification recognizes parking structures that promote energy efficiency and environmental performance enhancements. Executive Architect Harley Ellis Devereaux, Parking structure Designer International Parking Design

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL AT COMPTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE
As Vice President of Business Development, I was responsible for TEC Constructors being selected as Major League Baseball (MLB) general contractor to build its $10 million, 14 acres Youth Academy, a permanent facility in Compton, CA. The purpose of the Academy is to cultivate the talents of young minorities on and off the baseball field, by providing year-round baseball and academic instruction.
The first of its kind, the baseball academy and youth center is owned and operated by MLB. The facilities are on the Compton Community College campus. The project includes a baseball field built to minor league ballpark specifications, complete with stadium lighting, seating, press box, full-size practice baseball field, softball field, and youth-size baseball field. The site includes an entry esplanade, 10,000-SF clubhouse with lockers, administrative offices, maintenance facility, and separate batting cages and pitching mounds. The three fields encompass approximately 13 to 14 acres of development.

UNIVERSITY CALIFORNIA, SANTA BARBARA – SAN CLEMENTE VILLAGES
I served as project manager for Harley Ellis Devereaux Architects for the design and construction of 600 dormitory styled units for graduate students. In this role I supervised other design professionals and acted as lead contact to the University’s facility management team. I was responsible for bringing the completion of the project on time and budget.

SOUTH LOS ANGELES RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION ZONING AMENDMENT
As Director of Planning for Los Angeles City Council District 8, I was tasked with coordinating the efforts of multiple religious institutions and their clergy in developing new planning policy and zoning tools. With declining parishioners and an economic incentive to develop surplus church property that could be utilized to address homelessness and City’s housing shortage I assisted in bringing change to religious institutions development capacity. I was successful in working with church governing bodies, neighborhood groups, planning commission, city council and the office of the mayor.
